ACUP 2014: A Hot Time in Arizona

A round of applause welcomed first-time attendees to ACUP during the opening session.

Numerous roundtable discussions, like this one on mailing, focused the discussions on areas of key interest.

Managers relaxed outside in between sessions. From the left: Chuck Brantley, Ringling College of Art and Design; Steve Amitrano, Burlington County College; Michael George (at far table), Villanova University; Vic Barkin, formerly of Northern Arizona University; and Wesley Grigg, Elon University.

In-plant managers packed into an ACUP session on the conference’s second day.

The ACUP awards, now in their second year, brought recognition to several university in-plants. Here, ACUP President Lisa Hoover presents Michael Kalstein, of California State University-Sacramento, with the Accelerated Service award for accommodating an extremely tight deadline.

In the busy vendor exhibit area, Lora Connaughton and Dena Moore, both from the University of North Texas, talked with Xerox’s Tricia Bhattacharya.

Last month the Association of College and University Printers (ACUP) conference brought 82 higher-ed in-plant managers to Phoenix for four days of education, networking and fun.

Managers traveled from Alaska, Scotland and even Australia for the 49th annual conference. We’ll have full coverage of this exciting event in our June issue, but until then, here are some scenes from the conference.
