Two Top In-plant Associations Merge

January 6, 2014
The boards of directors of both the In-plant Printing and Mailing Association and the National Government Publishing Association have announced that, effective February 1, NGPA will merge with IPMA to form a single, unified association.

As part of this merger, IPMA is pleased to announce the appointment of Mike Lincoln as IPMA's secretary/treasurer, replacing Larry Wright, who has served in this capacity for many years. Lincoln most recently served as president of NGPA, the 34th president of the association. NGPA traces its roots back to 1977, when it was formed as the National State Printing Association by Nevada State Printer Donald Bailey.

Leaders of both in-plant associations feel this merger will provide better value for all members, allowing for more growth and innovation. NGPA will retain its identity within IPMA, and the government group will meet during IPMA’s annual conference (June 8-12 in Milwaukee), where a separate track for government printers will be available. In addition, NGPA members will have access to IPMA’s numerous educational sessions and networking activities. IPMA’s website will also feature a section devoted exclusively to government in-plants.
