Presstek Promotes John Meyer to Vice President of Marketing

Presstek Inc., a leading supplier of digital offset printing solutions to the printing and communications industries, announced that John Meyer has been promoted to vice president of marketing, reporting directly to Chairman, President and CEO Stan Freimuth. Meyer joined Presstek in March of 2010 and has held director-level roles in Presstek’s CTP business. Prior to joining Presstek, Meyer served in a number of sales and marketing roles at Fujifilm USA.

Acquisition of Presstek Completed

Presstek Inc. reported that its acquisition by an affiliate of American Industrial Partners Capital Fund IV (AIP) has been finalized. AIP is an operationally oriented, middle-market private-equity firm. Presstek’s shareholders will receive $0.50 in cash for each share of common stock.

A year and a half ago, the University of Southern Indiana's Publishing Services operation was outsourcing 75 to 85 percent of its four-color work. This bothered Terri Bischoff, assistant director of Publishing Services, at the Evansville, Ind., school. She knew the university would be better served if her in-plant could gain control over this work, improve the quality and reduce turnaround times. To do this, though, would require some new equipment.

The 11-employee in-plant, based in Evansville, Ind., had been outsourcing much of this work, which it couldn't handle with its existing two-color presses or its Xerox 700.
