Spiel Associates has decided to hold an open house on Nov. 6-7, 2012, in its facility located on 45-01 Northern Boulevard in Long Island City, NY. Those who could not make the trip to GRAPH EXPO 2012 will get a second chance to see Spiel’s line of impressive new bindery equipment.

When the United States Department of Defense (US DOD) needs to get a message out to a foreign audience to support its soldiers in the field, it has to act quickly. For this reason, the US DOD maintains a fleet of Kodak NexPress digital presses, along with a contingent of bindery equipment, in several locations around the world. In addition, it is building deployable units, to be stationed where they are most needed.

Fujifilm will show the J Press 720 inkjet press. Heidelberg will present Prinect Digital Workflow Integration. New features for the Kodak NexPress platform will be shown.

Take a stroll through the halls of drupa and you will see more finishing equipment than you have ever imagined in your life. Most of those machines, sadly, are unavailable here on the other side of the Atlantic. So we've decided to focus on the equipment that is, and have provided a quick look at some of the new bindery and finishing systems that made their debuts at drupa.

The On Demand Conference and Expo will take place next week on Wednesday and Thursday in New York City. Now in it’s 19th year, the event returns to the Javits Center after several years on the road (Philadelphia, Boston, Washington, D.C.).

Held in the sleepy state capital of Harrisburg, Pa., in late April, the 47th annual Association of College and University Printers conference brought together nearly 100 higher-ed in-plant managers from all corners of the country—and from four other countries.

After several years on the road (Philadelphia, Boston, Washington, D.C.) it will return to New York this year, taking place June 13-14 at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.
