Bob has served as editor of In-plant Impressions since October of 1994. Prior to that he served for three years as managing editor of Printing Impressions, a commercial printing publication. Mr. Neubauer is very active in the U.S. in-plant industry. He attends all the major in-plant conferences and has visited more than 170 in-plant operations around the world. He has given presentations to numerous in-plant groups in the U.S., Canada and Australia, including the Association of College and University Printers and the In-plant Printing and Mailing Association. He also coordinates the annual In-Print contest, co-sponsored by IPMA and In-plant Impressions.

IPG Editor Bob Neubauer caught up with Greg Cholmondeley of PODi in Florida recently and learned that in-plants are missing some good educational and business opportunities.

The time was right for LexJet to move into new offices. With Florida’s commercial real estate market in the doldrums and the opportunity to design the perfect space from scratch for its employees, LexJet seized the moment to create a state-of-the-art technology center that uses technology to ensure more personal interaction with its customers.

IT MAY not be a popular topic among in-plants, but sending work to outside printers is often a necessary part of an in-plant manager's job. After all, in-plants can't possibly print everything in-house. Still, some managers don't like to admit that. "At some industry conferences, it has been like hypocrisy talking about print procurement," admits Joe Tucker, administrator of State Printing and Mail Services for the state of Ohio.
