When Kristofer Russell arrived at the in-plant for the City of Oklahoma City a few years ago, he knew he needed to make changes to not only the equipment languishing in the shop, but also the old-school mindset of many customers and employees.

Tina Gray has managed the Oklahoma Department of Human Services' in-plant for 10 years, and she couldn't be happier. With a solid staff and an unforeseen passion for printing, Gray says the joys of the job outweigh the challenges by a long shot.

Love’s Travel and Country Stores started a new in-plant about two years ago and has saved the company more than $1 million so far. Recently the in-plant expanded yet again with the addition of new finishing equipment. 

ACROSS THE street from my office, I noticed one of our neighbors preparing his race car for the local speedway track. Admiring his sleek speedster, and always interested in going fast, I asked, "How much does a car like that cost? His smile nearly grew to the width of this face before he replied: "How fast do you want to go?"

Just 10 days before the IPMA conference, the association lost one of its most enthusiastic supporters. Lora Geionety, an active and well liked IPMA member since 1996, died last Thursday after a short illness. She had served for more than 20 years as the manager of Mail Services at American Fidelity Assurance Co. in Oklahoma City.

Just 10 days before the conference she had helped organize, one of the In-plant Printing and Mailing Association’s most enthusiastic supporters passed away. Lora Geionety, an active and well liked IPMA member since 1996, died on May 28 after a short illness. She had served for more than 20 years as the manager of Mail Services at American Fidelity Assurance Co. in Oklahoma City.
