Mike Loyd

Bob has served as editor of In-plant Impressions since October of 1994. Prior to that he served for three years as managing editor of Printing Impressions, a commercial printing publication. Mr. Neubauer is very active in the U.S. in-plant industry. He attends all the major in-plant conferences and has visited more than 170 in-plant operations around the world. He has given presentations to numerous in-plant groups in the U.S., Canada and Australia, including the Association of College and University Printers and the In-plant Printing and Mailing Association. He also coordinates the annual In-Print contest, co-sponsored by IPMA and In-plant Impressions.

Last month the Association of Rocky Mountain College and University Mail Services (ARMCUMS) met in Rapid CIty, S.D., for its 15th annual conference—finishing up just before a major snowstorm paralyzed the city.

The In-Plant Printing and Mailing Association (IPMA) held its first online chapter meeting on Tuesday, and it was a big success. Though it was organized by the Portland, Ore., chapter, participants spanned the country, joining in from Wisconsin, Oklahoma, Indiana and other places. “This is really a historic first for the IPMA,” proclaimed Dana Bauer, of Fred Meyer’s Portland-based in-plant. The meeting was facilitated by Ricoh’s Production Printing Business Group (PPBG), with Greg Cholmondeley serving as host. The In-Plant Printing and Mailing Association (IPMA) is about to hold its first online chapter meeting. Organized by the Portland, Ore., chapter, the virtual meeting will take place Tuesday, September 23 at 11 a.m. The meeting will take place via WebEx, a Web conferencing site. Presenters will share PowerPoint slides and spreadsheets, and participants can ask questions either verbally or with a chat feature. Debbie Pavletich, director of Graphic Services at Briggs & Stratton, in Milwaukee, Wis., is the new president of the In-plant Printing and Mailing Association (IPMA). She assumed the new office on Monday, taking over for former president Mike Loyd, who retired September 30 as director of Graphic Services at Louisiana State University. “I feel very privileged to be at the helm of an organization that provides such a variety of support and resources to its membership,” she says. “Mike has done a fabulous job of guiding this association through a very critical period of change.
