Contest Judging Set for March 20
The annual In-Print 2017 contest received 415 entries this year, and on Monday, March 20, the winners will be selected. The contest, a partnership between IPG and the In-plant Printing and Mailing Association, is exclusively for in-plants. This year, 67 different in-plants entered pieces.
Judging will take place at IPMA headquarters in Kearney, Mo. This year's lineup of judges is a mixture of old and new judges:
- Christopher Donlon, Kohler Corp.
- Paul Ackerman, Blue Valley Schools
- Ben Fowler, Shelter Insurance
- Nathan Thole, Iowa State University
- Marcia Doll, University of Missouri-Columbia (Retired)
- Larry Clements, Redlands Community College
There are 27 categories to judge, with the non-offset categories receiving the highest number of entries, particularly the booklets, flyers and special projects categories. Judges will use loupes to scrutinize each of the 415 entries, weeding out those with cracked folds or bad registration, then selecting Gold, Silver and Bronze winners. As always, those winners will be honored at the IPMA conference in June.
IPG Editor Bob Neubauer and IPMA Executive Director Mike Loyd will be on hand to oversee the judging. Neubauer will also video the selection of the Best of Show winners. This video will be shown during the IPMA awards banquet in Pittsburgh to reveal the two Best of Show winners (offset and non-offset).
