One Week Left to Enter In-Print 2016

With just a week to go until the deadline for the In-Print 2016 contest, managers across the country are scrambling to submit samples of their best work. Will you join them? You should. The University of Oregon did, and Mark Dixon, director of Printing and Mailing Services, couldn't be happier.

The University of Oregon made three submissions.

"The annual In-Print contest gives us a chance, as an internal part of the University of Oregon, to win an award for a department that provides a service that usually goes unrecognized," he says. "We take great pride in the fact that we meet the demands of our customers with quality and a group effort of care. Winning an award and then having it on our wall is a great reminder of what the printing and mailing department stands for."

The in-plant submitted three pieces in the In-Print 2016 contest, two printed on an offset press and one printed digitally on the shop's Xerox Color 800: the Enrollment Management Annual Report.

"This piece represents the kind of work that we can produce in a timeframe that was unheard of until the digital world came about," Dixon notes. "We were able to take a file and produce 2,100 copies of an outstanding 4/4 booklet with tight crossovers on our Xerox 800. The piece was collated, folded, stitched and trimmed on our Duplo 5000 pro in one pass.

"The other two pieces submitted were done on our Heidelberg six-color press on uncoated paper with minimal dot gain and controlled color resulting in even color as well as tight image crossovers," he adds. "We appreciate the opportunity that the contest offers us. It is even better when we find out that we are honored with an award and have bragging rights."

These are just a few of the hundreds of entries expected in the In-Print 2016 contest, sponsored by IPG and IPMA and open to all in-plants. Can your in-plant beat Oregon's pieces?
