“Just being in the room when decisions are being made, a lot of times, is the biggest challenge” for in-plants, declares Chuck Werninger, director of Administrative Services at the Houston Independent School District (HISD). “A lot of shops are deleted from the plan before they ever hear about the plan.”
The in-plant at the New York State Bar Association is the first operation to take advantage of the strategic sales partnership between Colter & Peterson and the KomoriKare program of Komori America. NYSBA completed installation of a custom built C&P Saber 37.4˝ paper cutter and a Prism automatic stack lift system.
Formalizing their long-term strategic alliance, Komori has agreed to be the global supplier of all sheetfed Landa Nanographic printing press platforms to Landa, and Landa will provide Komori with Nanographic Printing technology and Landa NanoInk Colorants for incorporation into Komori-branded Nanographic Printing presses.
Konica Minolta and Komori will be showcasing the KM-1/IS29 inkjet press at PRINT 13. The new press combines Konica Minolta’s UV inkjet technology with Komori’s expertise in precision manufacturing.
Komori America has made two appointments in its national sales department to help further the development of its KomoriKare program. Martin Ford has assumed the position of regional manager, KomoriKare, for the Eastern U.S. region. Derek Gordon has been appointed as regional manager, KomoriKare, for the Western United States.

A sheetfed offset press is a big purchase for any in-plant. We talked with four managers who purchased presses in the past couple years to find out how they evaluated equipment, what they learned from the buying process and whether their press is working out as planned.
GLENDALE, CA—National trade printer 4over Inc. has purchased two multi-color Komori Lithrone GL40 sheetfed offset presses. 4over Inc. is a print provider with locations in California, Ohio, Texas, Florida, New Jersey, Illinois, Arizona and Mississauga, Canada.
