Bob has served as editor of In-plant Impressions since October of 1994. Prior to that he served for three years as managing editor of Printing Impressions, a commercial printing publication. Mr. Neubauer is very active in the U.S. in-plant industry. He attends all the major in-plant conferences and has visited more than 170 in-plant operations around the world. He has given presentations to numerous in-plant groups in the U.S., Canada and Australia, including the Association of College and University Printers and the In-plant Printing and Mailing Association. He also coordinates the annual In-Print contest, co-sponsored by IPMA and In-plant Impressions.

The Emerald Ball at the University of North Texas is proving to be a winning event for UNT Printing & Distribution Solutions. Last year the in-plant won Best of Show in the In-Print 2011 contest for producing the invitation for the fund-raising event. And now the invitation for the 2012 Emerald Ball has won the shop another high-profile award.

They're not just "Mean Green" on the field anymore. The award-winning University of North Texas Printing and Distribution Solutions operation has become the first in-plant to obtain In-Plant Sustainable and Green certification. The certification was awarded after the Denton, Texas, facility was inspected and audited by TNT Sustainable Business Solutions.

Jimmy Friend didn't want a new offset press. "We thought that we would not invest in offset in the future," reveals Friend, director of University of North Texas Printing Services. His 40-employee in-plant had two HP Indigo digital presses, and was getting good prices for long-run offset jobs from outside printers. Why rock the boat?

The In-plant Printing and Mailing Association (IPMA) has appointed six regional coordinators to provide the organization with information on in-plant activities and opportunities in different parts of the country.
