March is Women’s History Month, a time to focus on the often-overlooked contributions women have made to this country’s history. This got me pondering the role women have played in the in-plant industry.

The employees of University of Oklahoma Printing and Mailing Services understand that what they do has a bigger impact on the success and advancement of the university than just putting ink on paper. The products produced and distributed by the 94-employee in-plant directly reflect the values and goals of the university.
Winning 13 In-Print 2010 awards—plus the Best of Show—was a tremendous honor for the Printing Services staff at the University of Oklahoma. To show its gratitude to the customers that ordered those award-winning pieces, the in-plant recently held an awards presentation, during which it presented those customers with duplicate In-Print awards.
The University of Oklahoma was a big winner at this year's In-Plant Printing and Mailing Association conference. Not only did the Norman-based in-plant win the most In-Print awards (11) for the quality of its printing, the shop earned two of the association's most prestigious honors: Mail Center of the Year and the In-House Promotional Excellence Award. OU's Central Mail Services was lauded for increasing its business, reorganizing its delivery routes and purchasing value-added equipment while reducing its budget.
